RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION PROCESS IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

 



The two main processes of human resource management, recruitment and selection, are bringing in, evaluating, and selecting the best candidates for open jobs inside a company. These procedures are essential to developing a competent and productive staff since they ensure that the proper individuals with the required abilities, credentials, and qualities are hired to support the objectives of the company.

 RECRUITMENT PROCESS

A business uses a methodical set of procedures called the recruitment process to find, draw in, assess, and eventually hire the best applicants for available positions. The purpose of this process is to ensure that the company can hire people who are a good fit for the company's culture and have the skills and qualifications needed to succeed (Hire quotient 2022).

SELECTION PROCESS

Companies use a systematic series of processes called the selection process to screen, consider, and ultimately select the best applicant from among those who have completed the recruitment process. Finding the applicant who best fits the organization's culture, beliefs, and long-term goals, in addition to having the required skills and qualifications, is the main aim of the selection process(Hire quotient 2022)..

 


OBJECTIVES OF RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION

To identify and hire the most qualified applicants for a position are the goals of recruiting and selection. The particular goals of hiring and choosing can differ based on the company and the position, but some typical goals are as follows:

  •   Screen candidates
  •   Make a hiring decision
  •  Fill the vacancy in a timely manner
  • Hire the right person for the job
  •  Reduce the risk of hiring the wrong person
  •  Improve employee satisfaction

RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION PROCESS IN MODERN WORKPLACE

 Digital transformation has affected the above mentioned processes in many ways. The organizations developed new ways to process applications and interviews with suitable applicants, and it helps to save both cost and time. The following methods are few of the methods for recruitment and selection process.

 

1. Artificial intelligence

 AI helps to enhance the quality of recruitment, select the right candidates, save time, and improve the organization’s status.

 

2. Innovative Interview Techniques

 A time saving process for both the employer and the candidate, as even if the candidate lives far away, it can be processed as a group interview, phone interview, or vedio interview (Skype / Google Hangouts)

 

3. Social Media

A growing process helps to identify the suitable applicants. Many networks, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, can benefit from this strategy.

 

CONCLUSION

Organizations need to use the recruitment and selection process to make sure the appropriate individuals are in the correct jobs. Organizations can recruit and choose the best candidates for their available positions by using a methodical and organized approach. Employee satisfaction, productivity, and performance may all increase as a result, ultimately helping the company as a whole.
