6.1.Performance Management

Planning, monitoring, and enhancing an individual's, a team's, or an organization's performance is called performance management. This include setting performance objectives, tracking outcomes, giving constructive criticism, and overseeing the growth and improvement of performance. The goal of performance management is to maximize organizational objectives through productive and successful performance( Faozen, F. and Sandy, S. R. O. (2024).

6.2 Performance Management Objectives

An essential tool for achieving specified targets or goals is performance management. Target implementation and achievement can be carried out as efficiently as possible using this management. Superiors' feedback is used in performance management to assess worker performanceFaozen, F. and Sandy, S. R. O. (2024).

Performance Measurement and Evaluation

Evaluating the efficiency of performance management procedures is an essential component in making sure the system is operating correctly and benefits in the accomplishment of corporate objectives. Assessing how well employees are fulfilling expected performance standards and how much they are reaching established goals may be done with the help of the performance management process evaluation

Feedback and Coaching

Giving employees positive comments following a performance evaluation is essential. The employee's conduct, ambitions, and prospective development should be the primary focus of this feedback

Development Planning

Individual or team development plans are made based on the identification of development needs in order to enhance future performance and competences.

Performance Appraisal

Employee growth and accomplishments can be objectively assessed through periodic reviews of performance. Employees can identify areas for growth and create action plans to enhance their performance by gaining feedback that is helpful.

6.5 Disadvantages of a poor performance management system

According to Adobe Experience Cloud,2019 the disadvantages of the performance management system have mentioned below.

Employee get dissatisfied with their jobs.

Employee morale may decrease.

The process of organizing, managing, and enhancing an organization's overall performance as well as that of its members and teams is known as performance management. The principal aims are to enhance efficiency, provide defined performance targets, assess performance, offer constructive feedback, enhance performance, and encourage effective decision-making.

In order to accomplish corporate objectives, performance management is essential. Organizations may assess target achievement, identify challenges to achieving maximum efficiency, and give teams and individuals helpful feedback with efficient performance management.
